Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow -- all while having fun. It is the place where great futures are started each and every day.
The 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) initiative is a key component of the Boys & Girls Club of Lakeland & Mulberry program. BGCLM receives funds via three separate 21st CCLC grants to offer programming to over 250 at- risk elementary and middle school children from fifteen Polk County Public Schools as well as additional local private schools. The program operates after school from Monday through Friday throughout the school year and 8 hours per day during school holidays and summer days.
The Clubs provide expanded academic and personal enrichment activities to support and enhance students’ academic achievement and personal growth. 21st CCLC programs provide youth with project-based programming in Reading and Language Arts, Math, Science, Physical Education, Character Education and Drug Prevention, and Tutoring.
